Optional Competitions
The following competitions are offered for an additional fee per competition, please visit the sponsorship and fees page for a full breakdown of fees. Optional competitions allow competitors the chance to win additional awards and receive more stage time. Please note that optional competitions do not contribute to the overall scores or main title winners.
Spokesmodel
Contestants will deliver a speech of a maximum of 45 seconds on their goals for the future or a topic close to their hearts utilising the phrase “I Just Might”
Attire will be opening round t-shirt and jeans. The panel of judges will give a score from 1 -25 points based on content and overall presentation
Casual Wear
The casual wear competition is limited to one entry per contestant. Casual Wear can be any type of casual clothing. Denim is allowed in the casual wear competition. Ideal outfits for casual wear clothing are sundresses, skirts and tops or trousers and blouse combinations. Outfits should not be too glitzy or formal. The panel of judges will give a score from 1 -25 points based on modelling technique and overall presentation.
Photogenic
The photogenic competition is open to unlimited entries. Each photo is its own entry and has an entry fee for each photo. Photos should be printed in 8 x 10 inches and submitted at check-in, in hard copy form.
Actress
Have you ever wanted to be in adverts or films? Here’s your opportunity to learn how celebrities audition and give it a try yourself as you perform a brief commercial monologue. Receive your cue of “Action” in this fun and easy contest!
You will have two “Takes” or opportunities to say your lines. The judges will score the best of the two “Takes”. Attire will be opening round t-shirt and jeans
Portfolio
Do you want to show off your whole photography portfolio or show a more diverse style? The portfolio competition is for you!
Enter a collated collection of 10 photographs either printed in a photo book or printed and secured in a folder
Photoshoot
Do you want the opportunity to practice your posing skills in a live photo shoot with a top pageant photographer? Enter the photo shoot competition and on pageant morning you will have your own mini shoot with Jason Wade Photography where you will get 10 shots to make your impact. You will be scored based on confidence, posing ability and overall photo outcome so come with your best poses at the ready!
Attire for this competition is interview attire as the competition immediately follows or precedes interview. Following the pageant your best images will be available to you to download via an online gallery, you can use them to build your portfolio, to print or for social media
Dream Model
The IJM Dream Model offers the opportunity to win an additional award from a combination of casual wear and photogenic. Contestants must be entered into both casual wear and photogenic in order to qualify. Winners will be selected from the highest combined casual wear and photogenic score.
Runway Model
This new and exciting event, is a high-paced runway competition that is looking for a fresh face. You will walk the runway and model your IJM opening number t-shirt and denim blue jeans. The modelling pattern will be a T shape and we want to see a simple runway walk and neutral expression. This is your chance to walk the catwalk and to be scouted by top industry professionals. The panel of judges will give a score from 1 -25 points based on modelling potential.
Fun Fitness
This new and exciting event is a high-paced runway competition that shows off not only your modeling skills but also helps promote health and fitness. You will walk the runway and model an age-appropriate athletic outfit. This is another chance for you to walk the runway and to be scouted by top industry professionals. You will need to wear an age-appropriate athletic outfit of your choice. Sports bras are acceptable. No bras or bikini tops. Do not add any embellishments or rhinestones to your outfit. You may coordinate any trainers with this outfit. Your modelling routine is your choice but should be upbeat with no flips, cartwheels or tricks. You will be judged on attire, stage presence, confidence, and overall presentation.
